Seti Pir
This pir is located in Maryamabad, a place northeast of Yazd. It is dedicated to the last Sassanian queen, Shahbanoo Hastbadan. Two legends told of the story of what happened here. The first one suggests that this is where the Arabs caught up, and in the midst of trouble, Shahbanoo laid down on a rock, prayed for help, and was taken into that rock with her two attendants. The other legend says that she jumped into a well at this pir to save her honor. Similar to the legends, Seti Pir is thought as the "mother" of the pirs. "Seti" means royal lady. Like Pir-e Sabz, this pir is also a place of grievance and remembrance.
